News release: townsite at Reclamation's Flaming Gorge Dam in Utah to be named "Dutch John"

The news release announces that Dutch John Flats is the name locally given to the area of the townsite and is derived from "Dutch" John Hanselena, a horse trader and miner originally from Schleswig, Prussia who settled along the Green River in Red Canyon in the early 1860s.
