Summary: The news release announces that the Bureau of Reclamation will acquire the existing Sugar Loaf Dam and reservoir and surrounding lands from the Colorado Fuel and Iron Corporation. The dam and reservoir, on the eastern slope of the Rockies in Colorado, will be enlarged and used for storage as a feature of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project. Sugar Loaf Dam was built by the corporation in the early years of the 20th century. Its reservoir, Turquoise Lake, is used as a reserve water supply for the corporation's steel plant in Pueblo, Colorado.
