Summary:The Job Skills Education Program (JSEP) is designed to provide soldiers with the prerequisite knowledge and skills required for successfully learning their Military Occupational Specialties (MOS). When the JSEP is put into effect, it will replace the Army's current Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP) with a sophisticated, computer-based system. This report presents descriptions of costs of two Computer-Based Instruction (CBI) systems (PLATO and MicroTICCIT). The advantages and limitations of various options and features available with the two systems are discussed and, where applicable, priced. Options and features include video and/or audio capabilities, printers, color, and resolution among others.
